So the head gasket is toast on my 90 runner 3.0 , how can I find out if the factory recall has been done, and are they still honoring this if it hasn't been done. Also throw out any other advice since I know the majority of 3.0 owners have been through this already

I think it's too late for you, but it is worth a shot. Here is the Toyota case line #(800) 331-4331. One little tip when reading the letters in your vin# over the phone say Victor instead of "V", David instead of "D" etc. They will tell you if your truck is part of the recall or if it has already been done by a PO they will tell you that too.

 

Or just call your stealer and they'll let you know. You also get a free rental car...but watch out for "Oh this is bad and oh that looks bad. We can fix em for another $3000." I declined on the extras (belts they said were bad, other things) and almost 8 months later they still work fine.

you may still be eligible...since i had mine done i've received three more cards to have it done again

 

Oh also there's an air conditioning valve replacement service bulletin they should tell you about and do at the same time...they replaced quite a bit of the hoses and system when i took mine in.

 

That's the first I've heard of the AC bulletin. What years is that for?

I have a '91 and they did it at the same time they did the Head gasket. Since you have a '93 I'd ask em definitely.
