Question Newbie needs help upgrading sound.

I finally upgraded my stock speakers to Rockford Fosgate FRC4206 & 4205 after reading how easy it was on this site.

I am using the eom head unit which came with an in dash 6 disc changer.

I have been looking at the Rockford RFP3212 Punch HE2 Sub 12" Subwoofer on ebay and would like a recommendation for an amp.

Is it possible use the eom hu and add an amp for a new sub?

First off good choice on the HE2 Sub, from what I understand it rocks! Yes it is possible to connect your factory head unit to an amp, you will need a line level converter like http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?stk_code=pyrns60 (please not I am not in anyway endorsing this product...pyramid kinda sucks). You can search online for them, or buy one from Best Buy (kinda expensive).

If you are doing the insatall yourself (which it sounds like you are) check out etronics.com for your eqiupment (if you dont already have it) They are pretty cheap and have good customer service.

Splitz is correct. It is pretty easy to do. I just used one of those converters to hook up an MA Audio Amp to a Ford F250 pickup radio in my brothers truck and used it to power two Rockford 10" subs. It sounds awesome. Shakes you to the bone.

The hardest part was identifying the factory speaker leads to hook the line level converter to and identifying the electric antenna lead to hook up the amp turn on lead to the amp. Once you do that it is a breeze.

Normally I find if you are doing a rear mount application, you can grab the speaker leads close to the rear speakers. I've never done a truck install, but I'm sure it's pretty much the same.
