1st Gen rear seatbelts and fuel door release?

Was a remote fuel door release ever offered?

I noticed on my rollbar what appears to be anchor points for a shoulder harness but have not seen pics of anyones truck with rear shoulder belts. Also my lap belts are all attached under the rear seat but I see some that come from the side trim panels below a storage pocket(I don't have that either)...I assume these were SR5 options?

If anyone has rear seatbelts they want to sell please let me know, I need to have a way to install two car seats for my boys.

I believe you are correct. My 89 is a DLX model and does not have the side seat belt mount(retractable). I use the mounting point on the roll bar for my bikini top. I believe most of them came with rubber plugs for these holes. I have never seen a shoulder harness back there. But I am also interested in putting one there. It can't be too difficult.

My 86 has a pull type cable under the left side of the dash for the fuel door. Good luck with the car seats. I could never get them tight enough to not tip halfway over when going around corners. I think it has to do with the attachment points for the belts under the seat. They are very close together and form more of a loop than a semi circle. Maybe you could secure them in different locations to get a better effect. I never messed with it much cuz it was just for my grandson and I only had him back there 2 or 3 times.

Check your owners manual if you still have one. Sure seems to me that there was an optional child restraint kit available from the dealer, and some special instruction in the manual for rigging the belts. MY 85 SR5 had 3 belts for the rear - a retractor in each side below the storage pocket/cupholder and a nonretractable in the middle.

89 SR5 4runner here...
Yes, I have a remote fuel door release below the steering wheel to the left. Assuming thats what you're talking about.

I have only rear lap belts, no shoulder belts. My seats in the back are down full time for my 85lb dog

I have shoulder belts back there on my '85... but I put them there. Visit your local boneyard and find a '84-'88 standard cab pickup with the interior color you want and grab the belts from it. The belts from the standard cab trucks were externally mountd so the mechanism has a cover, the Xtra Cabs were internally mounted. Be sure to grab both parts of the belt, I didn't the first time and found out that the factory 4Runner belts and the belts I got weren't compatible, they had a slightly different latch. Also be sure to get the mounting bolts, etc. Then bolt them up, quite simple mod that cost me a whopping $20.
