Got my new bumper! *finally*

Well..just over a month ago I ordered a pricy little ARB Sahara Bar w/ fogs & signals!! Finally it came in yesterday, without fogs....

Nonetheless I installed it today..what a biatch! This thing seriously weighs a ton. It's on, but needs adjustment..the front is a bit angled. Also, my CV's are now much better than before (882's)...but I think I'm gonna tempt it again and add a bit more lift, since when on level ground the front is way nose down...Here are the pics!!

Eventually, it'll get painted, but thats on the backburner until after I move. Whaddya'll think?

Looks huge. I don't see that model very often on Runners. Is that new model? How's the overhang? Looks like it may be a littler more than stock. Does it hold a winch?

Very nice. I'm similarly stoked about my new rear bumper.

Sure is tough to wait though isn't it? Front is a ways out for me. So many mods, so little money...

It's not bad but it looks awkwardly wide and looks like it belongs on a full size truck or is it just me?

Cool bumper!

Time to black out that fender trim (see my write-up in the tech section) and paint that rear bumper black!

You down?

Bushwacker Extenda Flares are on the schedule also...
MAYBE a Sonoran Steel bumper, but I don't see that money coming from anywhere once I'm in college full time and not working at all.....Still not convinced I wanna black it all out though, it's been done (wonderfully).

About the size... Yes, it looks big. It's because I have a 2" BL, and there is a fat ass gap.. I'm working on a solution to that right now. Also, it needs adjustment to tuck the ends closer to the fenders. Check out Bamachem's (SP?)..His fits perfectly, no BL.

OH, and about it being a new model..It isn't BRAND new, but I think it's only been out for a few years. Made for the Toyota Prado.

So far, I REALLY like it.
This pic should show the size better..Not that bad.

And Yep, I can hold a winch. Don't have one tho.

I think if you get it tucked up closer to the body it will make it look a lot better. I think you're right, the big gap makes it look a lot bigger than it is. Nice bumper nonetheless

Yah, i'm pretty sure I can't fix that gap. There is only so much adjustment. I'm thiking if I can level it out, and then slap some flares on it to make the fender flow into it better, it'll be ok. Make some IPF lights too. It's certainly obvious it isn't made for a 4runner.....especially not one w/ a body lift. Nonetheless, It's growing on me..

Well, you are a GAPguy, so now you got a GAP. Looks good, but definitely some flares would help it blend in more.

I wouldn't sweat the gap, I'll fix mine eventually by fabbing some custom mounts, and with a dark color it is less noticeable

LOOKIN' GOOD!

I'll send you an email addy of the customer service director at ARBUSA. Let him know that you didn't receive your fogs and he will have them out today. His name is Scott Cohen and is a VERY nice guy. ARB has the BEST customer service of ANY company I've ever come across.

Don't worry, get the gap fixed and get some Bushwackers and it will look right at home. Also, it will look MUCH better when you lose the chrome in the grill and on the fenders and get it painted. When you do get it painted, get them to hit your rear bumper and license plate surround. It shouldn't cost much more for that.

In order to align it, all you have to do is slightly loosen the bolts and just yank up on the rear of the bumper by the tire. As long as the bolts are still fairly tight and not flopping around, they will hold it in place until you get them tightened. Brian helped me with my install, but I had to take it back off to replace the chrome hoop. I was able to get it back on and aligned by myself.

In a couple of months when you get the flares and paint, you won't recognize your runner. Also, DEFINITELY get the IPF 900's for driving lights. They fit perfect and are 130W each! Good job!

Nice Bumper!

You guys are making me jealous. I think the only way I will be able to get an ARB bumper is if I get in an accident..

bamachem,I really like how you monochromed all the flares/rockerpanels,two toned gets a little passe looking after a while;I didn't notice the job as much before since I hadn't seen any side shots of your truck.

thanks. i like it MUCH better. i had been seeing an 02 sport in sunfire red around where i work and i knew it would look killer with everything painted one color. after the wreck in december, i knew it would never go back to two tone... that was the event that put me into motion to get everything one color.

hey, are you coming to pismo? seeing that youre in escuela and have no trabajo, you really dont have an excuse-o
