Hey everyone,

I'm needing to know what automatic transmission would be the best choice for my 4x4 truck? I currently have a manual tranny and 3.0, but would like to convert to auto. I tried searching, but my limited knowledge of Toyota trannies has me stumped. FWIW, expensive repairs on my 3.slow has me thinkin' about a swap soon. Any suggestions?

I would stay away from the auto if I could, but if you insist. The tranny is the A340, and is found in many Toyota cars and trucks. You would need an A340H with the transfer case attached. The A340 from the Supra won't work. The ECU from the 7M will shift the transmission if there was an auto in the Supra. Go search on the Pirate board. Someone there has done this exact swap.
