need help removing cylinder head on 22re

I need to have a 3 angle valve job done on my 22re but I need a detailed description on how to take everything apart. my buddy(who is a good mech.)is giving me a hand. we are having trouble getting the EFI throttle body off the block. Do we need to completly disassemble the whole thing or is there a way just to unbolt it from the block and take it off all at once. cause we think we took off all the bolts that connect it to the block but it just wont come off. are we missing some we just cant see? or is the gasket that has us in a bind. Hey any help counts

Hi,
I just did this about a month ago.
Set the engine at top dead center. I undid the bolts that hold the upper and lower plenum together. Then the upper should come off. Then undo the bolts that hold the lower to the head (there are several that are hard to find). There is a coolant tube under the center of the lower plenum (held on w/2 10mm head bolys) take that loose, remove the bolt from the support brace at front part of lower. Don't force it, it should pull to the side.

The exhaust mani should just unbolt. It is easier to do it you remove the pipe clamp at lower rear of block. Just pull it to the side

Remove the gear at the front of the cam. There is a small 12mm bolt that is in that little puddle of oil under it you need to find and remove. Take out the head bolts. Rear drivers side is tight with heater tubes, be careful.

Of course, the pwr steering and hoses and misc crap also comes off, but this is the basics.

There should be a allen head bolt that kinda goes thru the front of the lower thermostat housing that you cannot see and have to remove the upper intake plenum to get out. It is about 6" long.
