Ok..........got the engine built finally.

Total Rebuild.
Turned Crank
Bearings
Pistons
Rings
Oil Pump
Rebuilt Head
Comp Cam 268
Downey Header
Modine Radiator....etc

As one stated after a build similar to this..."Dare I say I have Passing Power Now!" The cam and header really wake up the engine. Its still a 4banger and will never win any land speed records, but I am impressed. I still need to get the cat and mufler replaced, and I imagine I will see even greater performance after that as well.

Here in the mountains of Western NC, the old 4cyl just about could'nt get out of its way. 80mph was tops......now.....80 seems to not even stretch its legs. I am still breaking it in....so I wont go over 80.....and probrably never will. BUT I CAN IF I NEED TO NOW......thats what I like. Tourque is better...sound is good....better after the muffler and cat I presume!

Almost 3G. There was some work on the fuel system as well....lines...fuel pump bracket...etc. I got the truck for a decent price.....so I can still sell it and break even.

Kinda doing the same thing here.

Our 30k mile old motor just ate a piston ring and the head has been decked beyond limit so we bought the LC EFI Pro Cylinder Head with camshaft and their Pro Piston Set.

Cant wait to get it back together and actually pass someone on the freeway.

 

LC has good stuff man....you wont be disapointed. Its strange....passing up hill.

 

Yea, couldnt belive the difference that just a header made. Now we got bigger valves, porting, torque-mid range cam. All I need to do now is a cat-back and I'll be hitting the fast lane.
