Evan's Creek - November 29th

Looking for a little help in setting up a trail run. On Friday after Thansgiving Thursday, I'm planning a run to Evan's Creek. Everyone's invited!

They problem that I am running into, is that most of Evan's Creek is too much or too hard for some of the novice wheelers. I am in need of a GOOD map that I can print out for everyone, including trail descriptions/recommendations. i.e. stock Cherokee with a wife who'll kick your butt if you scratch it (read pastor's wife), go here. Built rigs who'll risk some body damage, come with us.

I know that most of the trails out there are marked and rated, but I don't have a good map of these.

Can anyone help?

Hi Dale, I have a good map here.
http://www.toyotaoffroad.net/tando/maps/evanscreek.jpg

It's 1.2 mb.

I hope the map is detailed enough.
Check with Rob also to see if he has any GPS maps of Evan's on his site.

The TOR server where I have the map seems to be running a little slow today too, at least on my end it is.

Hey, for those going to Evan's Creek with us next weekend, we have a slight change in plans. The trip is going to be Saturday, not Friday. I hope this doesn' t mess with anyone's plans and that it may also allow more of you to come on out.

I was wondering if it would cause problems by running with just a front locker?
I will have time to put it in.

It shouldn't cause a problem, but if I'm not mistaken, it'll fit either end.

I will look around and see if it can go front or back.
Would like to put rear in first.

Do we have a head count on who's going on Saturday. Yes, we changed the date from Friday to Saturday.

We are meeting at Faith Family Church in Milton at 9:00am and then at the 410 cafe in Buckley at 9:30.

November 30th...

Mr Jim Dot Net Jim Bennett

Hey Everyone!

Well, I was looking forward to being at the Evans Creek Run this Saturday, but I just found out today that my Pathfinder will not be finished (at body shop) until hopefully next Friday. The total was $4500 which included new nerf bars, new hood, new fenders, new paint, repaired rocker panels, and a ARB Bull Bumper. I will have to wait a month or so before I buy the winch for the new bumper.

I had been spreading the word to many folks about the run and I have a small group that is asking for meeting details. Can you let me know so that I can hook those folks up with you guys? They are the Suzuki / Isuzu group. I have not met them but they sound like good people.

I am so bummed that I can't be there myself!!!

Jim Bennett

I think I met a bunch of guys from this group on July 4th when our church hosted a free 4x4 obstacle course.

We're meeting in Milton at Faith Family Church at 9:00am. The church is located at 1702 Milton Way. If we get out of there on time, we'll meet up with those coming from different directions at about 9:30 at the 410 cafe in Buckley.

I'll be using CB Channel 5. Channel 4 is way overused in that area :o)

Thanks for the offer Bill, but I would be miserable without my rig up there to play in. You know how it is. I will be ready again soon. Have fun and catch a little air for me...

Hi! I’m with the Isuzu group that Jim spoke of. We are PNWIOR (Pacific Northwest Isuzu Off-Roaders ). Our members are from all over the PNW (WA, ID, & OR). He gave me the link here to hook up with you all directly.

We have 3 rigs that are confirmed: 2 Rodeos (me & Joe) & 1 Mitsubishi (Tony & Dianne). We have 1 more Rodeo who is a maybe. I’ll be the only “local” – the others are coming in from ID & OR. I know where the 410 Café is, so we’ll meet you there at 930a. Actually, we’ll be inside.

The last time I did Evans, we “entered” the park on the 102 trail and then did the whole 311 trail. That was a very cool trail. The upper trail was the most challenging, and it was a less muddy than it’d be now! I know Joe would be up for that one. I have a few pics up from that run, and a few other recent runs we’ve done, posted here if you want to check them out.

We’ll see you Saturday!

Here's what we have from our end.
Me and my dad in my 94 4Runner www.upndair.com.
Matt and a co-pilot in his 85 Bronco (Yeah, you'll have to help push him through the tight spots.
Scott and kids in his 91 Toy Pickup.
Andy is his 79 Toy Pickup.

On the maybe list, Jason, in his 73 Chevy (give me 40 acres and I'll turn this rig around) full size pickup.
Mark in his 57 Heep.

I believe Wrongway Bill is coming in his Toy pickup as well.

I look forward to meeting you all.

Anyone else coming?

Yea, when we went we had a full size Jimmy with us, too. I was amazed at what he made it through - but not without a bit of body damage!

Sounds like a nice sized group.

Looking forward to it, too!
