I searched .. didn't find anything ... I guess I'm not typing in the right words.

but I've got coil overs in the front, OME in the rear, and 1" BL. Would I be able to clear a 35" tire? Also are there any other mods I would need to make?

According to schaefer, just some trimming up front...

 

I think you need a minimum of a 2" suspension lift, 2" body lift, and lots of trimming. Steve did a post on this somewhat recently (last month maybe???). Perhaps you could check out his site, see if there's anything there.

 

You left off that you HAVE one of my rear bumpers, which is needed for the rear.

You HAVE to pull all the front mud flaps, etc off, grind the bottom of the pinch weld completely flat and cut the bottom of the back of the front fenders back a good 1.5". You also have to cut up your TJM bumper ends.

It's NOT the 35 that's the problem, it's the 12.5.

 

ok never mind then .. I was hoping that all I had to do was trim some fenders and crank the SAWs, and be ready to go be next week. This will just have to wait till later. thanks guys

Steve... care to make an educated guess for me on something? How much effort (cutting/grinding/trimming) would be required to clear 33/12.5-15s? I've got 3" of OME now, with a 1" BL and Inland Trucks a-arms on the way.

 

I'm running 33's right now with minimal rubbing (285/75/16's).

but are either of you running 33/12.5-15s? I know 285s clear without much rubbing, but they are about an inch narrower than 33/12.5-15s.

 

Do you have 15 inch rims at the moment, or is this something you're swapping?

 

I have the stock 15s on my rig.

 

33" on the factory 16" rims .. before the BL they would rub, even on road if you turned the steering wheel all te way they rubbed. But after the BL .. no rub at all .. I've stuffed it in there a few times, and on full turn there is no rub

 

a 285/75 is more like a 33x11, a true 33x12.5 = 305/75 16. i am doing a 2" body lift this summer so i will hopefully clear a 305 with no rubbing,

 

I've been down to GWNF to wheel .. but we definitely need to get something together maybe in late july

 

Probably pretty close to the same, I don't know how you'll make the rear work with a stock bumper and you'll have to cut the TJM wings down.

285/75/16 is an 11" wide tire.

315/75/16 is a 12.5" wide tire.

The extra width, not the height is the problem.

 

32.8's which in real life is alot closer to 32.

My 315's are really 34.5, but if he gets 33x12.5x15, he'll really get a 33" tire.

I found this out the hard way on Chinamans last year all of us with 285's sucked raw eggs and Adrian with his real live 33's coasted right over. Yes that 1/2" or 1/4" made all the difference in the world that day.

Why do you think I have 315's.

 

GRR. I have 285/75/16 w/ OME and I rub when on the street, turing full lock.

Pounding, here I come.

Mebbe a 2" BL.

 

Along with the "true" tire sizing you would also have to consider how much you air down which I would think could take as much as 1-2" off the diameter of the tire.
