Hello everyone, I just got a 86 Toyota pickup with a 22re, it had sat for about 8 years before I fixed the gas tank then it fired up for about 3 minutes, after that I’d go to start it then it would run for about 1-4 seconds then shut off. I jumped the Fp and b+ diagnostic port to get it continuously running, along with a new fuel filter. Same problem. Pulled the intake manifold and fuel rail to clean the injectors. Pretty sure I did a good job. I have power to all my injectors as well. AFM opens as it should, not to sure where to go from here and it does run on starting fluid. Thanks guys!

 

Did you install a new pump.My EOM one went out at ~325K.

 

My first thought is something to do with poor fuel flow, so when the pump runs it builds pressure, but then loses it quickly when the injectors open. Possibly a faulty pump, clogged pickup screen, or a severely restricted fuel line. The other possibility is maybe the AFM is not sending a proper signal to to ECU even though it is running the fuel pump.
