replacing locking hubs w/ one stuck in locked position
I have a 1988 4runner and I'm replacing the AISIN manual hubs. One is stuck in locked position. Most videos say to switch to free position before removing and then install that way. Are they any modifications for the one hub that I have stuck in locked? One is stuck in locked and one is moveable and in free position. Thanks.

It should still come right out. You may have to lift the wheel off the ground to remove the tension on the drivetrain.
Then once its out you can re build it and put it back in free.
But it doesn't really matter. Free is easier because its not trying to lock in on dissemble/ install but they can come out either way.

Maybe it will make more sense when I pull them. If it comes out "locked" and I fully replace w/ another locking hub, can I put that new one in, in a free position? Or is there some kind of corresponding piece "on the other side" that has to match the locking position? Does that make sense?
