86 Toyota SR5 Loose Wire Red With Yellow Strip

My truck will start, but won't idle or stay running at all. A wire came loose. It's a red wire with a yellow strip. Any one have any idea where it goes? All I'm finding is a red wire with yellow stripe for the 4wd. Surely being a red with yellow stripe, it would have to be a power wire/ignition wire. Can't figure it out. I had checked my injectors to make sure they weren't stopped up, and was putting it back together, when I found the wire

A little more info would probably help...
Engine? Location of wire? A picture?

I just posted a picture. It's a 22re. The wire is a red wire with a yellow stripe. It's on the passenger side of the motor. By it being red with a yellow stripe, I was thinking it's some kind of ignition wire. One that works as a hot wire when the key is on

Ive checked wiring diagram after wiring diagram. The only red with yellow stripe wire on the wiring harness, is for the 4wd indicator light. But, when I do a search on Google, for a red with yellow stripe wire, it's says that On a Toyota, that that is an ignition wire. That it's powered when the ignitionnis turned on. Why can't I find where the wire goes? I've went from end to end On this truck, and still can't find where it goes

When you put it in 4wd does the symbol on the instrument panel light up?

Off the subject, but is that "rope" somehow holding the battery in place?

Ive not even put it in 4wd in years. I don't go four wheeling or any thing, so I really have no need to put it in 4wd. The rope holds my battery in place, so it doesn't move around

The battery hold down hardware is still available from Toyota. Infinitely better than rope. Part numbers below with Toyota online order prices.

Battery clamp 74404-89114, $24
Battery clamp bolt 74451-89103, $13
Lock nut for clamp bolt 94180-40800 $2
Bolt w/washer for clamp 90119-A0109 $2

Of the 5-6 engine fire vehicles towed to our dealership they all had two things in common. 1) a giant cut in the hood from the fireman's axe so they could stick a hose in the engine compartment, and 2) the battery being the point of origin for the fire.
I'm not curious about your 4wd habits, I'm just wanted to know if the "4WD"symbol on the dash lit up when you shifted into 4wd. If it doesn't, and you ground that wire and it does come on, you've answered your question.

I told you, already, that I've not put it in 4wd in years. And it doesn't matter if you like that I have a rope to help hold my battery in place. I don't reckon that I asked you to go off about it. Didn't ask you to care about it. The only thing I was asking about was the wire location. And if that had something to do with the running of it
