feels like im in 1st gear

Guys, need help, I just got a 1995 22RE toyota xtra cab 4x4, the truck is awesome but I have an issue with the manual tranny, I was told by the previous driver that the clutch was replaced and when I change the tranny oil, it was clean, clutch and shift is smooth also, the problem is when I move and start shifting gears, the RPMs are totally fine, but when I go from 1st to 2nd and go over 20mph and I let go the gas it feels like I'm in first, it gives me that foward push and slow down and if I continue and change to third or fourth it give me the feeling when I let go the gas that Im a gear behind, now I'm in fifth and going 65+ , when I let go the gas it feels like im in 4th, heavy thump, but the rpms are normal and the engine is not reving high, my friend has a 1991 22r 4x4 xtra cab manual like mine and this doesnt happen on his, what could be the issue?, I mean it drives great beside that thump noise under and the feeling I have it in either 3rd or 4th going 65+ without the engine been on high RPM. I hope I explained that you all could understand.

If you're feeling and hearing a thump when changing gears, I'd start by inspecting the engine and transmission mounts. Then move on to the driveshafts and since you're under there, check the engine to trans bellhousing bolts
