Torque of front brake dust shield/Backing plate on 1988 Toyota 4x4 truck
Is the torque for the bolts (7) that secures the dust oil seal to the dust shield/cover 34 ft. lbs? I used a torque wrench set to 34 ft. lbs which resulted in the bolt breaking when torquing. Now, I'm hesitant to torque the rest of the bolts for fear of breaking them.
Thanks for replying. Your diagram does read 13 ft-lb. Can you provide the manual you got the torque spec from? Also, have you ever had to remove the dust cover on your 1985 Toyota truck and had to re-torque it? If so, any issues with oil leaking around the dust oil seal or any other issue?
