Hood Sticking in the Middle

Hi,
I have a '91 pickup, and about 6 months ago the hood started catching near the windshield when I try to open it. With some force it will open with a loud POP! I'm wondering if there is some adjustment that can be made to the hinges? The only thing I can think of that would have caused this is one of the hinges rusted a bit, and so when I would open or close the hood it would pull on the piece that was supporting the hing. When I looked at it there wasn't any obvious damage, but maybe it got bent?
I know if I remove the part with the air vents along the windshield, the piece it's rubbing on, then I can gain better access to the hinges, but I don't know if there's any adjustment that can even be made so I thought I'd ask.
Thanks

the hood bolts appear to have flanges on them kind of like a washer/bolt combined. the hood holes probably allow some adjustment prior to the final tightening. My chevy is this way. sometimes its easier to remove the hood to work on the engine, especially if removing it.

I dont think the hood adjustment would be under the window sill. I would try loosening a bolt a bit. "breaking it loose" so to speak. then tighten it back up a bit to create a slight hold. do this to all of them. bring the good back down but not closed. then just kind of lean back holding the front of the hood and give a light pull. lower it back down and check spacing towards the front fenders for equal gap spacing, etc. then gently raise it and crank a couple bolts down and test it out. You may want to lube up those hinges first. I would use a penetrating oil or mechanical lube. something that can get in the coils.

also, it is entirely possible that a hood latch arm can be bent or the hood creased by a rusty hinge. if that is the case then you will need to remove the sill which is usually just a couple screws/bolts and pop off the winshield wiper blades. you'll probably be amazed how nice your hood works if the hinges are that bad, lol

loosen (not remove) the four bolts holding the hood to the hinges, then you can make adjustments.
When the hood is closed and latched if it's sitting higher than the fenders on either side(not flush) you might have bad hinges.
