1990-1995 22re truck/4R FSM Question
Good morning,
I'm in the process of accumulating parts to install the throttle body that has the air valve built in, as opposed to the separate valve I currently have.
I recently got a used throttle body, and it's been opened up before, and the air valve has clearly been messed with, adjustment-wise.
I've tried finding info on how to properly set the air valve, but all i found were a few YouTube videos, and they, 1) lack specific info, and 2) pretty much wingin' it.
The parts schematic for the throttle body does not show a gasket available for the air valve plate, which means that either fipg was used, or that Toyota never intended for this to be opened. I'm thinking the latter
Now my question. Does anyone have a FSM for 1990-1995 22re that either shows adjustment procedures, or at least gives testing info? Even knowing what coolant temp the valve reacts to would be good,

you were probably watching the ray nada video?
it looks like the air valve itself installs with an o-ring, but i don't see anything about disassembly on this fsm: https://web.archive.org/web/20100714...34throttle.pdf
looks like it's supposed to react at 176 degrees F, fwiw:
"Check the engine rpm by fully screwing in the idle speed adjusting screw. At low temp. (Coolant temp.: below 80C/176F) • When the idle speed adjusting screw is in, the engine rpm should drop. After warm–up • When the idle speed adjusting screw is in, the engine rpm should drop below idle speed stop."
https://web.archive.org/web/20100714...34throttle.pdf
as you probably already know, the late fuel hose/fuel injector rail that goes with the later model straight intake plenum doesn't use a fuel damper at the end of the rail, it's one less thing to break down... i had to find that out the hard way just a couple of weeks ago :-/ there is a guy on ebay selling new fuel hoses, but it's $$$ https://www.ebay.com/itm/196154756009

I looked to see what the coolant temp was supposed to be on the old style IACV, which was 140 degrees. So I'm guessing this valve should be about the same.
It's not the worst thing to adjust if It's wrong, but It'd be nice to be initially in the ballpark.
