93 pick-up 22re starts, runs for 2 minutes, dies

93 pick up 22re, starts, runs for 2 minutes then dies. Will crank, fire and stutter but won't run until I let it sir for about 2 minutes... fuel pump runs with key on and has plenty of pressure, the air flow meter seems to be good. I don't want to start throwing parts at it. Has anyone expierenced something like that? It has lots of voltage.... I think it may be a coil? Maybe a bad ECM? Not sure how to test that. The coil had 12 volts coming out when I cranked it. I tested it with a volt meter. Any help would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

Toy Starts-Runs-Dies

my 91 will start run 10 seconds then die...even with pump jumped.....but...

if I block the AVM open, without pump jumped, with all air ducting in place, will start and run fine....except it has a fuel smell from tailpipe...probably the computer thinks it wants more fuel...cause the AVM is blocked full open....

I want a carb....

Thank you Coryc
I'll do all that. Should my fuel pump be running with the key in the "On" positiopositioe it does. And never shuts off...

No.

That's the whole point of the COR; if the engine stops sucking air (maybe a fuel line broke?) the fuel pump immediately stops.

I would suspect some redneck modifications to your fuel system. A system particularly unkind to those sorts of modifications.

Got it! Thanks a million guys. Saved my butt. It was absolutely the COR. It is totally corroded and you can hear the inner pieces rattle when you shake it. I've got the jumper wire on it that CoryC talked about until. The part arrives so we can feed cows. Great group. Great website. Thank you!
