PCV valve has oil running through it!
Hi everyone,
I have a 1986 pu with a 22r and it just hasnt seemed to run quite right but today I found that there is oil in the pcv hose and on the actual valve. I replaced it but there is still oil coming out of it. The po claimed the engine was rebuilt and there is a ton of lce junk on it including a weber 32/36. Is this normal or am I gonna have to spend some cash? TIA!!
The intake hose is connected to the air cleaner and the exhaust side is connected to the intake manifold as well. The engine doesn't seem to chug oil but the oil does seem to get dirty quick. I'm a noob and am still trying my best to dial this thing in, any advice is appreciated!

You might upload a photo of your setup...I'm mostly familiar with the PCV valve connecting to the valve cover and it isn't clear from your post that is your configuration. If it is connected to the valve cover and there's a bunch of LCE equipment on there, I would pull the valve cover off and check a few things. First I'd look at the timing chain. If you have a double row timing chain, make sure the front of the valve cover baffle is properly clearanced for the double row timing chain. Next I'd pull the baffle itself off the valve cover and see what is going on near the PCV valve. It is possible the timing chain is slinging oil on top of the baffle, and maybe it's crusted up around the pcv valve causing oil to get sucked up instead of just draining down off the baffle.
I'm running a LCE dual row timing chain with their specially clearanced valve cover, and when I go up super steep hills (generally steeper than you'd find on-road), I shoot black smoke out the tailpipe for 30 seconds or so. My guess is this has to do with what I've described above, but no proof thus far.

I only have a single row timing chain but i pulled the vc off and found this little number right behind the oil fill cap. I dont even know what could have caused this! The timing chain looks fine and i was always careful not to torque the vc acorns down too much! Man im at a loss 😢
