Looking for a Speedo Gear for a 1990 4wd / 31s / 4.88s / 5 spd

Mornin', my speedo is off by 5-7mph at freeway speed (on the high side) compared to my GPS.

Does anyone know what speedo gear I could get to get the speedo back to accurate, or at least close to accurate?

My truck is a 1990, 4wd, 22RE, 5 speed manual. 31s with 4.88 gearing.

Thank you

Mine was too. I did notice at stop the needle sat on the 5 mph mark. The needle was off. I removed the cluster cover and gently turned the needle downward to what looked like about a 0 mph spot. Hold it at the base not the needle portion. The needle just slips onto the shaft so turning was easy. Was off from the factory assembly. Now it's near dead on by GPS and by those cop stationary roadside radar speed warning devices. Worked for my situation.

If its consistently off at all speeds because of larger tires, then this needle adjustment should work.

Thanks for the info. My needle sits at 0 when parked. Mine is off due to a gear ratio & tire size change from factory. I've read elsewhere that changing out the speedo gear can put it back to calibrated, just unsure what the # of teeth need to be.

Years ago I came across someone that had a selection of gears depending on changes, BUT I’m worthless and can’t remember where or who it was, maybe someone will chime in.

mine is off about 5 and at this point I kinda don’t care anymore

Might help to know how many teeth are on the gear you have now.
