I don't know if there's already a thread for this, but I don't see too many old Toyotas where I live. There was one in town that was pretty rusty but the kid drove it daily, I'm guessing it was an 84-85 Xtra Cab. Haven't seen him in a while so I'm guessing he moved out of his Momma's house
Anyway, I'm on an early Bronco forum and because of their rarity (depending on where you live) there is a 'sightings' thread where people post pics of Broncos they spot on the side of the road, at the store etc. and it's pretty cool to see the pics.
I saw this truck yesterday at our local grocery store in the Middle-of-Nowhere, Wisconsin, it looked like a brand new truck!
Sadly, I see caravans of vintage Toyotas nearly every day, heading east on I-10.
Destined for central America, never to be seen in the United States ever again.

interesting, how do you know where they're headed? are they on a car hauler? that is pretty sad, but I know these trucks are all over the world and still chugging along

Usually one truck towing another one, often two or three pairs travelling together.
Once in a while, one stuffed into the back of a box truck.
Mostly going to Texas onto container ships destined to central America.
Occasionally some drivers take them thru Mexico to get there, but the paperwork is extensive since Mexico is protective of its used car market.
I know these things because I talk to the drivers sometimes when they stop for fuel at a truck stop near me.

Here in suburbia CO it’s rare I see any first second or third gen pickups, I see a handful of second gen runners but they are usually beat to poo, most people at this point think I own a Tacoma and they get confused when I say it’s just a pickup…..
I’m on the lookout though A majority of older trucks and runners live in old mountain towns, every time I go camping I’m amazed how many old trucks I see.
I see quite a few of them around still, most are pretty rough but there's still a couple of clean ones. I know where a yard of broken down ones are but the guy is really weird when it comes to trying to buy something from him and doesn't want to sell anything which sucks because he has a low mile 4 runner that was involved in a rollover with a 5vz that would look real nice in my pickup
Tough to find solid 2 gen in my area...I found mine on Ebay at a used car dealer in Iowa...just 600 miles down the road. Im sure it turned a few heads sitting on the lot
