1988 4Runner 22RE M/T Crank no start
Hello everyone. I was driving home from work and had already exited the freeway when i felt a drop in power. The truck started to misfire and eventually turned off as I came to a full stop in the emergency lane. Towed her home and started researching and trouble shooting. I've been trouble shooting my 4runner for the past couple weeks and now I need your help. My 4Runner had it's 22re rebuilt around 2&1/2 years ago and around 25,000 miles ago.
No codes come up. CEL stays iluminated when the key is on the ON position. I tested the TPS and all the readings are in spec. Fuel pump comes on with the key. I pulled the cover off from under the rear seat and can hear a hum. To be sure I jumped Fp and B+ and can hear a constant hum. Fuel filter was replaced. New plugs, wires, cap and rotor. New ignition coil. Tested and I have spark at all four plugs. Went through all major ground points and they are clean and tight. Compression test pulled strong numbers. All fuses in the engine bay look good as well as the ones near the driver side kick panel.
I even tried to get her to run with some starting fluid to no avail. I could really use the help from some toyota gurus right now.
Compression test:
#1 - 170
#2 - 180
#3 - 180
#4 - 175
I know these numbers are on the higher end of spec but this doesn't concern me given the semi recent rebuild.

fuel pump should not turn on "with the key" unless the engine is running or the key is in the "start" position. it should not run with the engine off and the key in the "on" position.
pull the low pressure fuel return hose, from the FPR, where the hose connects to the hard line on the firewall. stick the end in a suitable container (or just stick a longer hose on the outlet of the FPR) and crank the engine with the starter for 5 seconds. check for fuel in the container.
