94 pickup weird electrical issue

So the other day I pulled my parking brake and it came loose, the cable was just about there anyway, but it finally snapped. So on the drive home to the garage all of my electrical started going crazy. The radio was going in and out, the speedo and rpm gages were going up and down. Battery was not charging. The dash was illuminating and then going off. I was thinking that the frayed cable was touching the switch for the parking brake and the bracket somehow grounding it causing the electrical to go wacky

now I have the complete cable assembly removed and the switch handing free with nothing interfering with it and my electrical is still being weird my battery is still not charging. Fuses are good. Cables look good. I pulled and opened the ecu, no burns or smells, looked pretty clean. Could that have smoked my alternator somehow? I don’t see any wires the brake could be interfering with. I don’t see any wires exposed or damaged. Anyone have any ideas or run into a similar issue?

thanks in advance

when you say "fuses are good" did you check for voltage? did you check fusible links?
Check your battery voltage. Then put a battery charger on it and see if everything is still whacked out.
You probably blew a fusible link and that stopped the battery from charging so the voltage dropped.
Once the voltage to any of the control modules drops low enough they do a lot of funny things.

removable fuses in the fuse box and under the dash are the ones I looked at. Battery at full charge everything is good except the battery is not charging. I think all the wacky stuff I saw was when the voltage was too low like you said. Ecu boards looked clean. I’m not seeing anymore fuses, in-line or links, Maybe I need to look harder. I’m hoping that’s just what it is. Would there be any in the path of theParkung brake line on the engine side of the firewall maybe?

I mean mayyybeee my alternator happened to go out on the sane ride home but that would be some crazy timing.

The removable fuses are only part of the equation. If you use a meter to check for voltage you may find a clue.
I can't help you much because I don't have a wiring diagram for a 94 pickup, my original system may be different and I have done a swap with engine/trans/tcase from a T-100 so it's very convoluted.
