Hi everyone. Looking for info to diagnose my issue. I bought a 95 4runner with a knocking engine. I rebuilt the engine and went to drive it. It wouldn't shift out of first gear so I did a filter change and fluid and new shift solonoids. Still won't shift out of first gear. No check engine light on , also trying to shift manually does nothing. Can anyone give directions what to do next to try and figure out the issue. Please help Thank you

 

Step 0: which transmission to you have? (It on the driver's side door pillar.)

It's the a340h, I am thinking it might be a speed sensor failure
