CEL P0773 on a 93 with a 99 motor
Shift Solenoid E Electrical
I got this code today after recently doing a 3.4 swap into a 93 4Runner. I drove about 1000 miles before realizing the CEL bulb was out but over that time it shifted and ran perfectly. It’s a manual trans with new fluid and clutch.
getting secondary DTCs
P0450
P0710
P0753
P0758
P1700
P0441
The swap has an ORS conversion harness.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Kindly,
Ryan

so was the engine and ECU pulled from an ATM vehicle? If you're not sure the ten digit part number on the ecu would help identify the application. Something like 89661-xxxxx
Did you do the swap. or did a shop perform the work?

A friend of mine did the swap. I’m not sure if the motor came out of an auto but I’d bet on it just because there are so few manual 3rd gens on the road. The ECU # is
89666-35140
Thanks again

Right now your ECU is waiting for input from various atm sensors. When it didn't receive a signal it started throwing codes.
Not to be conspiratorial, but my guess is that CEL bulb didn't go bad from age. And the CEL indicator plate in the ashtray dovetails with my theory.
My only suggestion is to start hunting for a mtm ECU. Tacoma 3.4 may work.

The problem would never have been hidden because I finished the electrical and am the only one who’s driven the vehicle since the swap- but all the same I believe you’re correct about the ECU with us a relief! At least my transmissions not going bad!
thanks again
