Power window help- doesn't make sense
Hey all, I've been going through all the threads and it gave me some good starter points but there are some things that just don't make sense to me.
I've got a 95 4runner, 3.0, and the passenger side window stopped working from both passenger switch and driver master switch. Replaced the motor and from the passenger switch only the motor will only activate with the switch in the Up position. Not down. Neither function works from the master switch, BUT if I'm pressing up on the passenger side switch and press down on the master switch the motor will stop. I also found if I shake the master wiring the motor will stop when I have the passenger switch engaged.
From the passenger switch has 5 wires and itthere appears to be 4 wires rhat go over to the master switch. I checked ohms on all 4 with a multimeter and have 0.00 - 0.02 ohms.
I also have about half the darn dash pulled apart trying to figure out how to pull the harness put it's not going well.
Any thoughts on what I should check? Ways to jump the wires to confirm which one (or more) is my culprit? I'm a novice at electrical.
Thanks

Most of the time the wiring issue is where the wires go out the door into the body...
if its a switch problem you access that in the door.
I doubt you need to pull the dash to find and fix this problem.

Excluding the possibility of a damaged wire or bad ground, the most common component failure was the master switch on the driver's door. The window lock button feature on the master switch can make it an oddly difficult system to diagnose. It was not uncommon to see a Toyota with a right window that worked from the master switch, but not the passenger door switch. And the failure was at the master.
