86 Pickup: Unplugged component by Trans Speed Sensor

I tried searching through the forums and online for diagrams, but am running to a dead end. There's something unplugged from the same wiring cluster that the speed sensor connects to by the intake. Can someone let me know what this may be? Thanks!

Could be the wire for the 4WD light? There's a switch in the transfer case that makes when you go into 4WD, and turns on the green indicator light on the dash panel. Having rambled for so long, it strikes me you didn't specify whether you have 4WD or not. If you don't, it could be that the wire for the light is present in the wiring harness, but if you don't have 4WD, it may not be used? Same wiring harness as the 4wd version, just used in the 2WD version. It may have come with a cap to cover it in that case, but that's a harsh environment down there. The cap may well have vanished years ago.

Then again, I may be totally off in left field someplace. Totally wrong. Maybe.

Thanks Pat! It is a 2wd model so I think your theory may be correct. I appreciate the response.
