LSPV leak/no leak ?
Hello, 94 Ext. Cab 4x4 22re. Lspv has been doing it usual, leaking ! The past two days i have not had to add the usual amount of fluid that normally put in every day !! I keep a drip pan under the right rear wheel to catch the fluid, versus spotting up my carport and driveway ! The past couple of days maybe three days there has been minimal drips and leakage. I usually have to put in maybe almost half of a soda can every day !! What could be causing this ? I know it needs replaced ……. here is another instance. This past winter December January of this year, I hardly added any fluid for two months not even half of a soda can !! …Boot on lspv frozen ? Idk. Any thoughts ?? I know the cure is to replace the lspv , money doesn’t grow on trees these days so I have been saving up some money to replace every component on the brake system to include the lines. Because I know that when I go to take those three lines off of the valve they are going to break ! Thankyou

Thank you! Your exactly right i shouldn’t be driving it ! But i do on our 329 acre farm and property ! It is not licensed, it is a farm use vehicle !!! I hope a couple of nice bucks i have seen cross my path if anything. But i will park it til its repaired ! Again thank you for information I already knew.

you left out the details that you were not using it on the road. less problematic; at least you aren't endangering the general public.
the lspv is pretty simple. disconnect the hard lines, unbolt the lspv body from the chassis, and inspect it. i guess you already knew that, though.

About five years ago, the LSPV was leaking on my 92. I bought the Toyota part which was very expensive. Took the boot off the LSPV, and water, brake fluid, and a rusty mess came pouring out. Could not afford a new boot kit. Five years later it's still working fine without a boot on it, but I don't do any off road stuff. Just a point A to B and B to A grocery getter, and hauling what ever. You might want to get a boot kit too when you install a new LSPV.
