drive shaft modification with transfer case swap

I think I'm going to swap my chain driven transfer case in my '97 4runner for a gear drive with 4.7 gears. I'd love to do a dual case, but am not ready for the money or time needed to do that. My question is will the drive shafts need to be shortened or lengthened with the new case? I know I'll have to have the adapter for my r150f manual transmission, but not sure if the actual transfer cases will be the same length or size. Does anyone have experience with this swap? Thanks.
