I found one on Rock Auto for $89, which is also the price they charge for the cheapest alternator I could buy from them, but with a $40 core.
I took the list of alternate part numbers for both options Rock Auto provided and searched for the same voltage regulator on Maniacelectricmotors.com and my specific alternator part number is not among the mass of part numbers listed. So now I am stuck with the question of interchangeability. I know that there are a lot of interchangeable car parts and I expect this is going to be the proper shape and bolt right in, but I’m wondering about any functional differences between these two units. And if Rock Auto says it's good enough, is it really? And even if it's different, how much different could it be? These things all work about the same way and in my mind the main differences are the shape and pinouts.
I’m specifically looking for the regulator for 27060-65020. The Maniac Electric index shows 27060-63030 then jumps to 27060-70010. Can anyone who knows about this give me an idea if this will be an appropriate fit in my alternator? I would much rather spend $16 for a part rather than $90, but I also need to be sure it all fits together and won’t be billowing smoke for a few minutes.
ThanX y'all for your input. I have a feeling it's going to work if I get it, but I would like a second, third, or more opinions from people who know more about this than I do.
I don't know the answer to your question, but your maniac link went to a Honda page. Instead, I wandered about the links to Toyotas, and hit on this page: https://www.maniacelectricmotors.com/80904388.html This page claims the regulator fits a Toyota 27060-65020
I might have been to this page a day or so ago, but for whatever reason I couldn't get back to it, so I went to someplace that sold regulators and backtracked the part numbers. There's a good chance I've been working too hard to save a few bucks.
