87 22R 2WD Auto question(s) as I near the end of my build

Hello fello yota enthusiasts..

so I searched the forum for a couple days to the point of pissing off the ole wifey for not paying her any attention. Figured after a couple postd helping others figure out their conundrums I’d build some good karma to resolve my issues.

I tuned the carb, updated most every component and fuel/vacuum lines on the 22R 2wd Auto pickup and Im giddy about getting it on the road after 1.5 years of it sitting, only to find the wiring to transmission is fried and hanging on by a thread.

i searched for diagrams so i can take the thing apart and dive into it knowing what goes to what and what I may need should I need to find a replacement harness, no luck.
is there a step by step for replacing the below connector/components to the tranny?
Do I need to drop the tranny to be able to take the plate or whatever this thing is?

I’m pretty confident about rebuilding it and requring myself just not confident if it can be done while tranny is on the car or what these wires serve in the scheme of getting the truck to drive

Ant help is appreciated

I'd just make one. As long as you have the connectors everything else is pretty straight-forward
I use open barrel terminal ends. Cleaner, less stress on the crimp, and fits inside the connector.
I got my terminal ends(Yazaki) from Eastern Beaver. Much better quality than what you typically can get.
