I've been clicking around PUN and thinking about getting both front axles for my 1991 pickup and now one of them finally there the boot and puked all over.....
They work and I'll keep them as spare but they look like aftermarket junk anyway, not worth rebooting and using I think.
Most of the threads about cvs are either 10 years old or about 1k $ indestructible ones. I just need 4wd to get out to the hunting spot and occasionally drive in the snow or whatever.
NAPA has a $130 CV axle apparently inflation now 145$ that has a lifetime warranty and it used to be good, any opinions on the current offering would be greatly appreciated.
On my 2000 after C/O lift I tore a boot. I used a Napa one swapped in. It had less range of movement in the inner joint. I did the boot slide mod on the stock and switched it back in. I always have a spare CV. Napa works, Toyota is better. I have a Napa spare for my 2012 after I lifted it, and will put the mod on the stock axle boot when reinstalled.
If I could justify the money I'd buy the Marlin RCLT and RCV axles but....$$$$
