I'm in a tough situation here. Have an 87 4Runner 22RE / A340H AT, and my throttle cable assembly broken. This is the cable that goes from the throttle body linkage down to the transmission to control pressure. I'm not sure what issues or damage, if any, could be caused by driving it with it broken. I've verified through my local dealer with my VIN that 35520-35061 is the part I need, but they're are none to be had new. So, I'm reaching out to the Yotatech community to see if somehow, someway, someone may have one they'd be willing to part with.

 

I know Toyota called it a throttle cable, but detent/kick down cable is a more common term. I looked at the application and I show 35520-35061 was also used in 1988-89. And if you search 1988 toyota kick down cable you’ll find some aftermarket ones.
