2006 Tundra Driveshaft Replacement
Per Toyota I am having to replace my rear driveshaft assembly. They want $1900 for the part alone. Seeing some other options for way less (rebuilt/used, aftermarket, custom built). I am looking at six states distributors ATM, but have no idea if I am setting myself up for a disappointment. Can anyone tell me if there is a better solution, a potential upgrade that I don't know about, or am I on the right track?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Is the drive shaft bent or damaged somehow so it no longer rotates true, or is out of balance, or is it just the u-joints?
A lot of drive shaft speciality shops will balance a drive shaft, if that's the problem, for a reasonable price. They will also replace bad u-joints quickly and cheaply.
Many shops will also manufacture a new driveshaft, including balancing it and putting in u-joints for a better price than the $1900.00 you got quoted. Shop around a little, make some calls to local shops, check the local junk yards, and so on. I'd wager you can get a replacement drive shaft for a decent price.
