Can I cut in here and install a triple gauge?

After hours of searching on the internet and on these forums and scanning hundreds of posts, I can't find a single reference to anybody cutting into the dash above the glove box to install gauges.

So first, is there any problems or challenges with this, and second, what search term(s) should I have used to find the answer?
Thanks

start on the right side taking apart the speaker housing and removing your glove box.
than check up there to see if you would hit any wiring or other obstacles

i'd install a steering too

The glove box is off and looking underneath I can what appears to be a tube that carries heated air to the right-side vent.

But I am really curious about what you mean by "I'd install a steering too"?
Cheers

I'm sure it was autocorrect and he meant "install a stereo too"

Probably haven't seen it because not many people would want them there, lol. That would look really out of place to me...also in a location where I can't see them very well as a driver. It's your rig though you can put gauges wherever you want.
There are many places people have installed gauges on these trucks - A-pillar, headliner, top of dash, bottom of dash, head unit location, consoles, glovebox location, in place of climate controls, etc. basically everywhere except cut into the dash, lol.

Understood, thanks. My problem with the other obvious locations is that my view of the gauges would be blocked by the shifter, etc. But, it turns out my gauge set does fit quite nicely in the radio/stereo slot. Maybe it'll go in there.

If you can live without music, that's a good place. When I had my rally car that's where voltage, oil psi, and boost lived.

Why not just install it on the driver side windshield pillar?

I don't want to offend, so I'll just say that I don't find that a visually pleasing option. I've seen many guys online do it that way, of course.
