1990 Toyota Pickup CV Axle Replacement sources

Hey Guys,

I have a 1990 toyota pickup 4wd 3.0 and I'm looking to purchase and install some new cv axles. Does anyone have any reccomendations of where to buy the best quality ones from. I'm looking for OEM but open to upgrades as well.

Thanks in advance.

It comes down to how hard you wheel Off Road.Is your truck lifted??

There is a company that was rebuilding our OEM axles never fails I can never find things when I need to.

I installed a Set of the NAPA New CV axles about 100,000 miles ago then my hardcore off roading is pretty much done.

There are so many China Built axles under so many different names all built in the same place.

Unless yours have exploded new boots and new grease is an option I have used quite often

Best of Luck

Almost all parts-store half-shafts are rebuilds, so they usually start OEM. Of course, you don't know how badly they were abused, but people rebuilding them for a living don't really want to put the effort into rebuilding a bad one. My parts-store replacement has lasted many years. YMMV

Well, not for me. I've gone that route, it's an awful, messy job, and since you need to replace both boots (it's usually the outer that fails, and you need to remove the inner to get it off the shaft) you end up saving no money. In my mind, you might want to do that if you're certain your half-shafts are pristine but-for a split boot, but not otherwise.

When is anything on these older Toyota 4x4`s ever about saving money??

I guess it all depends how you define messy ?
