Anybody make a replacement wiring harness?
All I can find is for older american cars, anybody anybody? Mines pretty cooked and has a few connectors spliced in, worried about electrical gremlins down the road.

That's what I had to do. I was looking everywhere for a new/replacement fuse block for my 87 4R, after mine caught fire and burned up. I wound up having to buy a complete wiring harness for the dash panel to get a fuse block. I got one in really good shape from 4RunnerHouse. The guy that owns it builds up "super cars" for a living, but has a passion for these old Toyotas. He can get a LOT of hard to find parts, for the older Toyotas, for very reasonable prices.
Another source I use is YotaYard. They strip down wrecked Toyotas, and sell the parts. They have a ton of the rarer parts.
If you can determine just what the part number for the part you need, it really helps the recovery yard people a lot. You can call the dealership, give them your VIN, and describe in detail what you need. They will usually be able to tell the exact part number you're looking for.
Good luck!

Awesome thanks for the info fellas, Ill hit up 4runnerhouse and yotayard and see what he has. Is it a firewall forward harness or includes some of the cab wiring? Year specific or any 3vze harness will work? Thanks again

I got an extra 3VZE 5spd wiring harness that's just taking up space in my shed. It came out of a 1989. PM if interested, not looking to get much for it.
The years do make a difference in the harnesses, There is different wiring colors between every year I believe (just slight color changes on some wires).
-1988 has its own harness and some different connectors
-1989,1990 I believe have the same ECU pinouts, the connectors, just a slight variation between some wire colors.
-1993 had a lot of new stuff such as an updated TPS sensor (different connector), different ECU pinouts and different wire color variations as well. I think this version was used until 1994 or 1995.
If I'm wrong with some of that information please correct me.
But as long as you reference the FSM, and get the harness with the same connectors, you can repin the connectors according to the FSM. (actually really easy).

Honestly, there are even differences within years. Like the early 87 is different from a late 87. I found this out when looking for mine. That's why it's best to call the dealership, give them your VIN, and they can verify the exact part number you need.
Have fun!
