Receiving Hitch for 86 4Runner
Hey Everyone,
Does anyone know a good option for getting a trailer hitch on an '86 Runner. I'm going to be towing my 10' utility trailer to the dump every week for trash... nothing major. The aftermarkets only date back to 87. Someone told me that should still work but I wanted to see if you guys had any other ideas. Thanks!
Joshua

i think it matters because of your rear bumper.
i made a customized mount so i could integrate a chrome step bumper with a Reese hitch.
at first i ran no bumper and the hitch had to be mounted to the rear frame. But i had to modify the hitch uprights so they would fit the frame pockets correctly. That made them weaker. I was just mounting a bike rack, not towing so still ok.
outatime do you have a rear bumper on your 4runner? If so, what kind?
