I have a '92 Pickup in reasonably good condition. Reasonably good, meaning everything (normally) works fine and no known electrical problems ... until recently.
The dash lights went out a couple weeks ago. Then, last night someone behind me started flashing their bright lights at me. When I reached my destination, I checked and the parking lights are out also. I looked in the fuse box behind the kick panel fuse box and found separate fuses for both DASH and TAIL lights.
Although neither fuse appeared to be blown, I replaced them with new fuses anyway.
Neither the dash or parking lights came on. I also spun the dash light brightness knob to see if that might be turned down/off but it didn't help.
Is there possibly some other root cause for either (or both) of these problems? Seems light the two problems might be related.
Sounds like the "TAIL" position of the multi-switch isn't making a good contact. If you bridge terminal 10 (ground) to terminal 11 in Connector "B" (on the side that leads away from the column) & the lights work, it is the switch. The below pic is from this page
