1st Gen 4Runner Hardtop Dirt Streaks on body

Hey Everyone,

I have an 86 Runner, I just got done painting the rear of the truck, and cleaned all of the rubber and dirt under the hard top and the cab. I am still getting dirt streaks like I always have and it’s an eye sore on the white. Any tips and tricks to prevent this from happening? Everything is clean clean, so not sure why I still manage to have dirt, unless I am missing some rain water channels?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Road dust accumulation. MoreFunners are meant to get dirty. Heck, I still haven't washed mine since last month's Utah and last weeks Mammoth, CA hot springs trips. LOL!

Mine's gray so the dirt doesn't show. You could repaint yours a different color?

Past that....keep it in a garage? Hose it down every day?

Honestly, I've always seen those small trails from where the gutters direct water from the roof away from the side windows.

How about this: Park with the truck nose-up so the roof water mostly runs off the back rather than the sides. Or park with the side you see most higher so the water runs off the *other* side.

Sorry, no easy answers.

Nice truck, love the red, and yeah mine gets dirty, and does stay dirty, I was just wondering if there was another reason; or the rubber is so old that it’s deteriorating onto and down the side. I just want my truck to stay looking clean when I actually do clean it and leave it for a while, and/or repaint the damn thing haha
