Detroit truetrac in 7.5" and A.D.D.?
Hey all! So I managed to pick up a junkyard 4.88 front diff! I am planning to put a Eaton Detroit truetrac in it, but have been reading mixed opinions about what it does with A.D.D. systems. I had one in my 01 Jeep Cherokee 5spd with 33s and loved it. But what I have read on some vendor sites and other forums is that even if the driver's side shaft is disconnected, the the right hand shaft will still spin causing the driveshaft to spin and cause transfer case problems. In my 01 XJ, it did not have locking hubs and drove just fine with the driveshaft spinning on dry/wet/icy pavement in 2wd and 4wd when I needed it. However I have installed Warn locking hubs on my '93 4runner 5spd with 33s. What I am trying to say is if I want to lock the hubs when it's snowy/icy out and I want to keep the A.D.D. (the 4.88 diff and my stock 4.56 diffs are both A.D.D.) will it cause problems with the driveshaft spinning and the left side axle shaft disconnected in 2wd? I'm putting a yukon grizzly in the rear as well with 4.88s. I would also prefer not to bypass the A.D.D. because it's daily driven and pretty damn clean and would like to keep it unmolested as possible. Thanks for any input!
