Didn't clean zerk fittings....what now?

So I decided to finally grease the driveshaft and didn't clean all my zerks first. I did clean the zerks on the slip yokes but by the time I got a chance to go pick up some non-moly grease I don't know what I was thinking but I spaced cleaning the u joint and front spider zerks. They weren't really that dirty, just old and greasy. I still should have cleaned them first.

So what now? Can I clean them off and just pump a ton of grease through them to flush out any contaminates? I haven't driven it yet, but every post I read seems to speak of potential catastrophic problems if you don't clean them first.

Thanks.

If they were really dirty, they wouldn't allow the grease to get in. I wouldn't stress it so much, only thing you could do now for some peace of mind is to keep shooting grease in those u-joints until you feel satisfied any dirt is forced out. I suggest these caps for all fittings, so far they haven't fallen off my truck but I don't do mud bogs either: https://smile.amazon.com/Brake-Bleed...NsaWNrPXRydWU=
