Replaced Combination Wiper Switch now wipers are not working.

So I recently replaced my Combination Headlight Wiper Switch in my 1989 4runner because my brights were not working. Replacing the whole unit seemed to do the trick and fixed the problem I was having with my brights. But then it was raining one day and I found that my windshield wipers no longer worked at all. I checked the fuse and it was blown so I replaced it and my wipers turned on while they were in the off position and then the fuse blew. I know that some different year combination switches are wired differently but I can’t find the diagrams of the wire colors anywhere. Can someone please help me it would be much appreciated. Thanks

on all three of my 1st gen 4runners, the headlight stalk is separate from the wiper stalk; the headlght stalk is on the left side of the steering column, the wiper/cruise stalk is on the right side.

Yes I know that the wiper stalk is separate from the headlight stalk. I simply need to know what color wires for what speed go accordingly into the body harness. So that I can connect the stalk to the windshield wiper motor to control the speed’s/off and on. All I need to do is re-pin some wires so it works correctly that’s what I need help with.

ahh. get out your multi-meter and use it to test for continuity to find out which wire goes to each pin.
