My wipers are possessed!!!

Okay here's the problem...
I have an 01 Tacoma. Went to work last night and everything was working fine, this morning coming home from work, my wipers randomly activate/de-activate and my washer fluid motor no longer works.
If I want to use the wipers manually I still have both speeds, but no fluid and if I turn them on they choose when to stop on their own when the switch is in the off position.
There has been no change to my driving or anything like that, just started happening for no apparent reason.
I'm kinda stumped as to what would be causing this issue as it's really annoying when driving.
I've checked the fuse under the dash and that's ok.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Time to get the multi-meter out. Check for power, continuity, corroded wiring, etc. I'd bet you've got some wandering electrons. If everything else checks out it's likely the switch itself that's failed-your truck is old enough. Good luck and good hunting.

Gremlins no doubt
Demons you might need an exorcism !!
You might want to smudge with Sage
Can`t hurt .
If it was a open fuse they would not work at all
Dirt in the wiper switch not allowing the switch to open completely.
May also cause the washer pump to not work either.
Might be time for a new washer pump.

I found out what the problem was...
Splayed wires on the bottom of the washer pump. Issue resolved. (I guess I tore it up from the last snowbank I went through)
Thanks for all the help guys!

It is interesting to note what fixed your issue.
This is all on my 2000 Runner:
I've had an intermittent 'low washer fluid level' light for a few years now, regardless of fluid level.
Also, my wipers will sometimes decide how 'intermittent' they would like to be. They can be set on one intermittent setting, but the interval between swipes is not consistent, it varies.
All of this is making me think the wiper switch is bad. I've inspected the washer fluid reservoir wiring and it looks fine. I have a few extra wiper switch stalks that I can test to see if they resolve this issue. I've just been too lazy to dig them outta my parts stash. Maybe I'll do that this weekend finally.
