Clutch Woes

Good evening.

Earlier today, just after leaving the house and within less than a mile I was starting from a red light and felt a slight shift/bump while up-shifting and within a few seconds or so I was unable to shift into any gear and had to quickly get into the center turn lane. The clutch pedal felt ok, but there was no getting into any gear to at least to try and hobble home. I've known the throw-out bearing was making a slight noise but nothing major and this felt more like the diaphragm failed. I was able to get a tow and now the 4Runner sits in the driveway eagerly awaiting for me to dive in and get things replaced.

I decided to go with a clutch kit from Low Range Off Road, however I came across a part on their site (http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/toyot...e-bracket.html) for a brake/clutch bracket that may fail causing a similar situation I'm experiencing...

My question is, has anyone out there experienced a failure of this bracket?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like your clutch hydraulics failed. A failed clutch would still drive some but the engine would rev up with little to no motion. Check your master clutch resivor for fluid.

Get aisin master n clutch cylinders. Orherwise youll be bleeding them for days.
Probably a hydraulics problem.
could be the fork broken but youd be able to see that.
get a friend to pump the clutch and see if your slave cylinder moves at all. No movement equals bad hydraulics as stated above

Not sure, I'll take a look tomorrow and check the disc/pressure plate for a manufacturer stamp...

I checked both the pressure plate and disc and didn't find a specific marking noting the manufacturer.

I had the same problem. The spring in the clutch disk popped out and caused the clutch disk to bind against the flywheel. It was a cheap, flea-bay clutch kit - won't do that again.
