I have an original white with tan bucket seats and tan dirty carpet with darker brown dash components.
I am wondering the original carpet color and the best place to get a new carpet kit for this?

 

It probably be easier to go to local upholstery shop and look at their carpet samples and find one you like. And have them install it. I would do all the sound barrier work done first

That's a weird combo of colours. Most Toyotas of that era, especially white ones came with a Blue interior, We had an 1980 Tercel with blue interior, a 1983 silver Corolla with a Blue interior and my white and blue 1983 pickup,a two tone blue interior. These were all bought new. Sure it hasn't been re-painted or somone swapped out the interior? Check the colour codes on the door pillar plate. Did you check under the carpet to see...rarely does this get re-painted. I cant imagine why Toyota would put blue interiors in white vehicles exported to Canada and brown ones exported to the US of A, but it could be, Toyota did do some weird things back then. Usually only black or brown vehicles of that era had brown interiors. I know of a black 1981 sitting in a barn with that colour interior.

If you're going to stick to the brown interior the carpet should be about the colour of the light brown plastic pieces.

In mine, the light brown areas are a light blue, about robins egg blue, the dark brown areas are kind of a lighter navy blue including the carpet.

I got my replacement carpet from stock interiors and a couple yards of material to do the bottom of the doors and the back of the cab. Good stuff, the carpet is a bit of a kit, you have to cut and trim it to fit and there is a lot of excess material. Stock interior will send you colour samples. They also have matching floor mats.
