96 t100 auto no reverse
I have a 96 t100 309xxx with an automatic transmission, I just replaced the trans with a junkyard one.
On the first start up and test the truck went in reverse and drive 4-5 times but I only moved it a foot at the most. The next day I was gonna go test drive it and got to the end of my drive way stopped and reverse just stopped working. I pulled it back in and tried a couple more times to get it to move in reverse and nothing happens.
The fluid is full and brand new maybe a little bit to full. I’ve adjusted the shift linkage a couple of times. The rpms drop and the truck sounds like it’s engaged in reverse, but half the time after it warms up, and after the first try, it doesn’t do anything. It doesn’t sound like it engages and the rpms don’t drop.
Where should I start?

Filter replaced, and linkage under the pan was in the right spot. I made sure the solenoid were plugged in to. Fluid is at the correct level but I still don’t have reverse.
The rpms change when it’s put into reverse and then they start to creep down. But the truck doesn’t budge, the front tires are past a hump in my driveway so i cant really push it back. So I’m stuck in my driveway right now.
Any advice?
