New to Yota

Hello, so completely new to Toyota came from a long line of XJ's. I have a recently purchased 94 Toyota 4runner, 2wd 5speed manual 3.0. the guy I bought it from informed me that they had removed the automatic transmission and replaced it with a 5 speed transmission from a 2005 Toyota Tacoma. The transmission is missing the flex plate or 'dust Shield's as well as leaking from the rear and I have no idea where to start obtaining info. Any assistance woluld be awesome

Flex plate is for an automatic transmission. Dust Shields are important (you don't want road crap up in there), but won't keep it from start/running.

Leaking from the rear could be the rear seal. OR, it could be leaking from anywhere, and gravity pulls it to the back of the transmission.

Does your rig drive okay? Just what are you worried about?

Well at this point it's leaking gear oil from the rear of the tailshaft housing on the transmission. Also it needs a starter due to dragging while attempting to turn over. Fixed the tps and as of now it's fires up and runs great. Just not entirely sure to to determine which transmission I have so I can obtain a dust plate

If you have the RA60 transmission, the rear seal is less than $10 from Toyota, but I don't know anything about replacing it.

The dust shield for the 3VZE is 11361-65011 https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/p/T...136165011.html Perhaps someone more familiar with a transmission swap can say what is necessary.

I guess it comes down to whether your seller replaced the bell housing to make the transmission mate up. But I don't have any way to know that.

Not sure if this helps but this is the transmission. And I couldn't find and placard or stamp on the top of it.

Sorry not trying to derail, but I also need a lower dust shield for my 88 r150f, from what I can tell they dont make that part any more. If you know otherwise let us know!
