Where are you guys buying replacement snap rings for w56b transmissions?
Toyota is completely out of stock on some of the thickness options and gives me the complete wrong part on a vin verified search. The dealership diagrams show exactly the snap ring I need but when physically comparing what came off the transmission to the part I received they are not compatible. I’ve been back to the dealer and verified part numbers to diagrams and all checks out, but the snap ring part number 90520-30214 has a larger inner and outer diameter than what was pulled out of the transmission.
All the other snap rings I purchased checked out and are installed. It’s just this #2 clutch hub snap ring that is eluding me.
~27mm OD on shaft (hard to measure with hub and gear pressed on)
27.8mm ID on original snap ring
29.1mm ID on part number 90520-30214
Snap ring part number 90520-30214 doesn’t engage anything on the shaft.

#13 is the snap ring measurement I need. Toyota is completely out of stock of the #13 designation. No warehouse in the nation has em. So I’ve ordered #14 twice now. Both times they come marked as #0 and are not compatible.

FSM break down

Parts bag

90520-30214 designated #0 on top of original snap ring. Notice the original snap rings inside diameter is smaller.

Original snap ring on top of part number 90520-30214. Notice 90520-30214 outer diameter is larger.

Part number 90520-30214 does not engage anything on the shaft. Slips on slips off.

Have not tried marlin yet as they don’t advertise selling snap rings. I do have the same post on their forum though and will give them a call.
