New Toyota Owner Has Suspension Questions

Hello all! I am now the proud owner of a 1990 Toyota Pickup. I've never had one of these before and I absolutely love it! 5spd manual, 22RE motor, manual locking hubs. Its awesome. I have some questions though. I'm interested in refreshing up and beefing up the front end. I like the ride height and I'm not interested in lifting in. What's some good ideas to do some work on the front to make it better, stronger, faster, harder.... Wait wrong forum. Anyway TLDR whats some good upgrades to the front suspension to improve it and make stronger. Thanks! Now I have to go find why it makes a loud popping noise when turning at full lock.

Depending on intended use? There are several excellent resources... LCEngineering, Martin Crawler, many others that offer upgrades...
the SAS is probably the most radical upgrade... if your going to do much wheeling...

If the 90 is like earlier models, you get an awful noise turning at full lock as the limiter scrapes against the turn stop. It sounds like “creak-pop” or something like that. There are supposed to be 4 plastic caps on the limiters, basically like the head of a bolt. You can get these caps from Toyota or lowrange offroad, i think. Its about a $30 problem.

It's mostly going to be mine daily driver with trips out to the woods for camping and adventure down dirt roads. Thank for the links!

That's good to know! I'll go stick my head under there and have a look. Thanks!

The truck was made to do all that for 30-plus years.

For your application ^^^ NONE; except inspecting and replacing suspension and steering parts that are worn out / broken.
