Pick up coil doesn't fit?

Hey y'all. Truck is an 83 with a 22r. The distributor's part number is TY47. I've run into this problem where the replacement pickup coil I've bought can't adjust to the proper air gap because it runs into the arm of the vacuum advance. Every site I see lists this as the proper replacement but it is obviously too big? Does anyone know a source for the proper part or am I missing something blaringly obvious?

My original has YJT2 stamped on it but I can't find anything online, My distributor say TY47 on it.

This is the one i bought: https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b/import-direct-ignition-4489/ignition---tune-up-16776/ignition-pickup-stator-16858/distributor-pickup-12522/d2a3687ace81/import-direct-2-terminal-distributor-ignition-pickup/270112/5732306/1990/toyota/pickup?pos=0

You can see the original on the left, the longer top is what runs into the arm for the vacuum advancer as shown in the next picture

Yo bud,

No idea what's going on there. Definitely looks too big. I saw by glancing at your other thread you're looking into replacing the distributor. I have one you can try if you like. I'm down in Mexico at the moment but will be home on the 5th and can grab it on the 6th. Lemmie know if that's of interest to ya. I should be back in cell reception tomorrow night.

Good Luck,

Sam

Thanks! I was able to take the coil off the too big pickup coil and put it on the mount of my old one. The truck doesn't stall anymore but bucks in the high rpms so I believe it was a valiant effort that almost worked. I think I'm going to buy a new one off rock auto, Have fun down there! happy new year
